First Day of School! First Day of School!

Beginning of September means back to school! Wyatt was so excited. The last few weeks of summer, all he talked about was going back to preschool. He missed his friends, and the playground, and his teachers, and the art, and the snacks. He loves school.

In front of our house:

In front of preschool:

He ran right inside and started playing with toys. No apprehension this year.

I didn't cry this year when I dropped him off, but the first day was a little hard for me. Wyatt is such a little chatterbox, and it was so quiet around the house without him. However, I like having the one-on-one time with Micah. Georgia takes a morning nap while Wyatt is gone, so Micah and I get to play. Its been good for all of us.

Next stop, KINDERGARTEN!

Stuck

One night in August, I heard some whimpering downstairs. I found this:

What I think happened is this: Micah was in the laundry room, and somehow the door got shut. It was dark inside, he saw some light coming through the cat door, and figured that was his only way out. He was completely stuck. We couldn't push him back in. We had to open the door, sliding him across the ground while doing so, and then pull and pull and pull from behind to get him out. But not before getting a few pictures.

The Warm Beach

In July, we went to visit my sister Susie in Southern California. While there we went to the beach. The warm beach.

The big boys liked playing in the play yard/napping house/fort.

The little boys liked swiping food from the cooler. Namely, the chocolate chip cookies.

Gigi was a little sick while we were there, and I forgot to bring her hat, so she got to hang out in this number. Still cute.

Whitley is the queen of sandcastles.

Wyatt fetching water.

Micah likes long walks on the beach.

He also likes wearing sand goatees.

I miss the warm beach.

Happy Hollow is so happy

In July, we went to Happy Hollow, which is children's amusement park down in San Jose. It was incredible. Our kids loved it. I mean, they LOVED IT. They had a zoo, a puppet theater, a museum, rides, the most amazing playground ever, and the best part? It was very clean and not crowded.

At the zoo:

At the playground:

First, Wyatt goes down the slide

Next, Micah

Then, Jake.

G spent the day doing this:

On the rides:

Um, this picture makes me laugh so hard. One of these things is not like the others.

Wyatt is so cute. He loved the frog hopper.

We can't wait to go back!

Yankee Doodle Dandy

Buggy Fun Fact: The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. We eat yummy food, enjoy warm weather while outside (ok, this part doesn't happen in Half Moon Bay), watch fireworks, and hang out with family. And then eat some more. What's not to love?

First stop of the day, ward pancake breakfast at the church.

Wyatt with his BFF.

Happy Micah. Note the hair.

Pretty Gigi.

After the breakfast, home for naps, then to the town parade. No pictures, but fun was had by all.

That evening we went to a BBQ at our friends' house, and then walked down to the fireworks on the beach.

Georgie looks a little freaked out by the fireworks.

The boys watching the fireworks. I love this picture for so many reasons.

Put me in, coach

In June, the family went to see a Giants game. The kids didn't enjoy it as much as we thought they would. From their point of view, they couldn't figure out that there was a game going on, and they definitely couldn't follow the action. Basically, they just had to sit for a few hours and couldn't get up and run around and play. They did like the kettle corn, however.

Great seats!

And as for me, I got to add "Major League Baseball Game" to my list of strange places I have nursed a baby.
